On this Facebook Friday, Nina shows you how to make this beautiful interactive card designed by one of our design team members, Anita Chang.
For today's Facebook Friday we are featuring the Sizzix Script Sentiments Die and Tim Holtz Bloom Colorize Thinlets Set, and Tim Holtz Swirls Texture Fade Embossing Folder.
What you will find in your kit:
1 baggie with the die cuts.
The details of this embossed paper is just stunning!
This was the Tim Holtz Swirls Embossing folder used to make the embossed paper above.
2 black strips of paper, and a black mat
A piece of white cardstock with the scored lines below. This will act as the interactive mechanism for the card.
Scoring measurements and glue placements are shown below. Score tape or double-sided tape recommended.
First, let's put the flower together. Piece 1 has subtle score lines on the die-cut. Follow the series of photos below with the sequence of the Colorize die cuts, each piece building upon the previous one.
Yellow pollen fits right on top.
Now, let's work on the greenery.
1. Stem. 2. Leaves 3. More leaves
4. Green stem of another branch. 5. Yellow petals. 6. Accent petals.
You should have 1 flower, 1 brown stem greenery, and 2 green stem greeneries.
If you'd like to see another example of a Colorize set, please see this blog post featuring The Cafe set.
Using this piece from above that you have scored, place it down on the card, 3/4 of the way down, against the crease of the card base, and with the long glued rectangle side adhering to the card base.
Then you will fold over the mechanism strip along the scored line, so that the small glue piece crosses over the card crease line to glue down on the front of the card.
The photo below illustrates what I mean better. When the card is folded, you will see this box shape which is the interactive mechanism.
Now we are ready to embellish our card base.
Place black cardstock on front.
Place embossed white mat on top of black cardstock
Place one of the black strips on the front with enough space for your die-cut sentiment and flower. The die-cut sentiments are from Sizzix, Script Sentiments Die set. Please call us if you'd like to reserve yours.
On the inside, place the 2nd black strip to cover the mechanism and leave enough space for the die-cut sentiment.
Add the green florals within the mechanism as shown below.
You're done! Thanks for joining us on this Facebook Friday, please let us know if you have any questions, and we look forward to Anita Chang designing another project for us again soon!
