Art Journal Meetup Classes – Quarter 2

6pm to 8:30pm July 14, August 4 & September 29

Each class is an opportunity for both experienced and novice art journalers to get together and
meet kindred spirits. Students are encouraged to bring their journals, if they already have one,
for show and tell. Time will be incorporated for you to work on your journals with other
students and guidance from the teacher. Some supplies will be brought monthly to use in class.
Each class will include an approximate $15 - $20 value supply related to the theme. Class time is
2.0 hours with half an hour of shopping time after.

Month: July 14
Topic: Using Gelli Plates in Art Journaling
Class includes: a small shaped gelli plate, some sheets of paper and a brayer
Class: Using a gelli plate to make background papers for your art journal, and using in in the
journal itself, show and tell

Month: August 4 
Topic: Interactive Art Journaling
Class includes: Tags, pockets, envelopes, media tape
Class: How to make some interactive pages to fit in your current journal, show and tell

Month: September 29
Topic: Mini Art Journals
Class includes: mixed media paper, tags, binding supplies
Class: How to make a mini journal to stand on its own or fit into a pocket in a larger journal,
demonstration of some mini book bindings, show and tell
